At the Hotel
This 19th century manor house hotel sits on an 8-hectare property that encompasses a variety of meditational open-air spaces, organic vegetable and herb gardens and a 4-hectare UNESCO-protected forest. This hotel thrives on awarding guests unforgettable experiences, including a host of wine-related activities in the nearby vineyards, excursions to historic villages and castles in the area, and adventurous pastimes like tree climbing or canyoning. The hotel itself comprises a number of amenities to make guests’ stay a comfortable and revitalising one; a spa and sauna, a wine library, an indoor and outdoor pool and a gym.
Food & Drink
Boastring an array of restaurants and bars for guests to enjoy, each celebrates the flavours of the region and utilises fresh produce from the Douro Valley vegetable and herb garden. The Vale de Abraão is open throughout the day serving regional cuisine and encompasses The Dining Room that offers an intimate space to eat; The Terrace with tables surrounding the fountain and overlooking the vinyards; the Open Kitchen and Table where guests may join a small group of diners to watch the chef prepare a meal right in front of their eyes. Guests may also take advantage of the Wine Library and Terrace for a light pre-dinner aperitif, or the Quinta Bar and Lounge offering tapas, drinks and even a pool table.

Six Senses Douro Valley offers a range of contemporary-style rooms, apartments and villas, each featuring air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV, private bathroom with bath, a rain shower and free toiletries.The rooms all have either a view of the courtyard or the far-reaching vineyards; the apartments are set within the vineyards and comprise 2 bedrooms and access to a shared garden and pool; the villas are semi-detached and located in the vineyards with a private pool and garden.
Location
Sitting high atop a hill, Six Senses Douro Valley overlooks a spectacular UNESCO World Heritage landscape of vine-covered hills with the Douro river meandering around them. As the oldest demarcated wine region in the world, the peak season is during the harvest period in early September, with winery visits in high demand. Equally, the rich history of the area can be perceived through the many monasteries, museums and baroque churches that are available to visit.
