At the Hotel

Spanning 400 acres of woodland, garden and meadows, Heckfield Place comprises the main 18th-Century house, a two-bedroom cottage, a function space for private events, two restaurants and a 67-seater private Screening Room. There’s an on-site spa, Little Bothy Spa, which features a movement studio and gym, as well as a menu of all-natural, restorative treatments. The property also boasts a range of event spaces suitable for any and every occasion including The Assembly Room with moveable walls and garden views; the Sun House, a striking setting within the Walled Gardens; the Dining Room for an intimate and exclusive dining experience, and many more. Not short of activities to enjoy, guests can explore the estate’s farm, many walking, running and riding paths, enjoy fly fishing on the river or boating on the pond. For the culturally curious, there’s a programme titled The Assembly which offers a carefully curated series of talks and workshops all year round.

Food & Drink

Skye Gyngell–of Spring Restaurant in London–takes the helm as culinary director at Heckfield Place. The two restaurants, Marle and Hearth, are grounded in a philosophy that focuses on simple preparation, fresh ingredients and seasonal flavours. Marle, open to reservations from both residents and outside guests, boasts an inherent connection to the landscape by way of views, ingredients from the estate’s on-site biodynamic farm, and an interior of natural materials. Open to residents only, Hearth occupies a former stable and centres around an open-flamed fire; the menu is simple, heartfelt and characterised by classic cooking methods. For an evening libation and intimate atmosphere there’s Moon Bar, serving up classic cocktails and unique creations with the freshest ingredients. Wine aficionados can experience the best of established and emerging producers with the estate’s resident sommelier at The Cellar and its adjoining bar.

Rooms

Varying in size and style, there are six distinctive room types at Heckfield Place: Friends Rooms, Guest Rooms, Chamber Rooms, Master Rooms, Signature Rooms and a two-bedroom cottage, Church Lodge. Spread across the Main House, off the Corridors and within the grounds, all are teeming with individual character and craftsmanship. Adorned with high quality linens, hand-knotted wool rugs, original British artworks and an effortless mix of period and contemporary furnishings, all rooms promise at-home comfort, warmth and familiarity.

Location

Heckfield Place is located in rural Hampshire, a secluded setting but still within easy reach of the capital.
