At the Hotel
Under the ownership of the same family since 1977, over three decades of dedication has been poured in to the fabric of the Dormy House, making it one of the most sought-after destinations in the Cotswolds. Deservedly the winner of Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ 2017 Hotel of the Year award, the farmhouse chic accommodation is characterised by sumptuous interiors, tranquil surroundings, and quintessential English charm. Amenities include multiple dining destinations and the award-winning House Spa which features an indoor pool, fitness suites, therapy rooms, nail parlour, and gym. An idyllic destination for group getaways, there are suitable spots for private dining, meetings and events, and weddings; outdoor activities are aplenty at neighbouring Farncombe Estate. Luxe but far from pretentious, Dormy House Hotel is child- (and dog-) friendly.
Food & Drink
The Potting Shed is the perfect down-to-earth setting for enjoying freshly prepared, seasonal produce. The Garden Room, the more formal of the two dining spots, is set within a light-filled room that opens up to an outdoor terrace in warmer months, and offers a 5- or 7-course menu carefully crafted by head chef Sam Bowser and culinary director Martin Burge. There are multiple settings that cater up to 14 guests for private dining; one is Scandi-chic, another a stone-walled dining nook, and The Garden Room can also be booked out for larger groups. For takeaway trips around the estate, a selection of luxury Dormy Hampers are available.
Comprising 28 rooms, eight individually designed suites, and two hot tub suites, the accommodations at Dormy House are suitable for both families, couples, and single travellers alike. Expect timeless interiors with a contemporary touch to make for a luxurious home-away-from-home. With no detail overlooked, each guestroom comes with plush king-size bedding, spacious bathrooms, and amenities for the modern traveller; larger suites feature separate lounge and outdoor seating areas.
With the call of the Cotswolds right at your doorstep, there is no better base for exploring the grandeur of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Explore on foot or bike, and stop by the quaint village of Broadway for shopping, a touch of history, and places to eat and drink. Birmingham Airport is approximately one-hour by car; London Heathrow and Gatwick are around two hours. A train from London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh will take 90 minutes.
