At the Hotel

Deeply rooted within 350 acres of land since 1228, Ashford Castle is a one-of-a-kind hotel. The expanse of the property grounds allows for copious opportunities to partake in outdoor activities from zip lining and horse riding to golf, tennis and more. Overlooking the shores of Lough Corrib, guests have the pleasure of exploring the water via boat trips and luxury lake cruises, as well as paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing. Additionally, the hotel offers excellent amenities such as an incredible 32-seat cinema, a library, gym and spa voted Ireland’s Best Spa 2016.

Food & Drink

Ashford Castle offers its guests plenty of dining options. George V Dining Room pays homage to his visit in 1905 and offers a graceful, regal setting. The Dungeon is a steakhouse with a warm atmosphere and a casual bistro setting is available at Cullen’s at the Cottage. The Drawing Room overlooks the lake with a delightful day menu and the Connaught Room serves traditional afternoon tea. A brisk 20-minute walk away is Wilde’s at the Lodge, for traditional Irish fine dining. The grand Billiards Room offers small bites and leads out to The Cigar Terrace. The Prince of Wales Bar was built in the 1800’s and is an authentic place to indulge in a refined aperitif by the fireplace.

Rooms

After an extensive refurbishment the 83 bedrooms and suites now offer a traditionally elegant place to rest. All of the rooms and suites feature a grand individual design, a TV with on-demand movies, bluetooth speakers, air-conditioning, and picturesque views of the infinite green pastures. The Hideaway Cottage offers more private accommodation and is situated on the shores of the lake, adjacent to the castle.

Location

While the 350 acres of plains, forests, lakes, and rivers welcome exploration, this Irish countryside location offers more than what meets the eye. Visit the charming village of Cong, or take a stroll down the road and peruse Mrs. Tea’s Boutique and Bakery – Ashford Castle’s exclusive boutique shop. Dublin Airport is a 3-hour drive away and Shannon Airport is approximately 1-hour 45-minutes.
